  • Hello to all!

So much has been going on in the last year, that I forgot to blog.  I know I have said it before, but I REALLY will try to do better.  Tomorrow I will be flying to Baton Rouge to see my Mimi (grandma) and Dad.  It has been a year since I last visited.  Sebastian is doing great in school.  His class will be going on a field trip in a few weeks to the Hogle Zoo in SLC.  He will also be having his Kindergarten graduation soon.  Jacob turned 5 a few weeks ago and is starting to develop a new personality. Abby got braces in the fall and is doing great with them.  She has applied for Honors English and Science for her 9th grade year.  Hopefully we will find out the results soon.  We found out at her SEOP conference in February that she scored at 93 in science on the IOWA test at the beginning of the year, putting her in the top 10% in the nation.  She is still playing the alto sax and enjoying that very much.  She remains first chair and will try out for Jazz band in a few weeks.  She is currently playing soccer, but will not do so next year in order to focus on school work and band.  We have not been impressed with the coaches and the regional program, so maybe we will find something else if she would like to do so.  The boys have expressed interest in doing karate, so we are going to look into that.

Scott is doing well at work.  They are sending him to classes at night in order to progress his career with the company.  The head of HR in Canada has developed a career plan for him because they are very impressed with his work.  We had a trying time about a month ago with a person from his work.  Please be advised that when you lie about things, you are the one that will pay the consequence.  The truth has always been that lies cannot be proven no matter how hard you try.  Because of this, that person was terminated and my husbands career is doing GREAT!  I pray for this person daily and hope that they find peace in their life.  I hope they realize that you have to work for what you want, be honest, and do better by yourself to succeed.  It does not do you any good to spread false allegations and expect a free ride in life. Because this person did so, she is now unemployed.  She expected to get paid for this and was sadly mistaken.  It cost the company $400,000 to have her allegations proven wrong and have her legally terminated. She has done this before at another company and expected the same.  Proud to say it didn't happen.  Corporations don't bow down to the little man.  This time she messed with the wrong people.  Now I hope she finds peace and a JOB so her family will not suffer for her ignorance.

Now that that is off my chest, I hope everyone out there is doing well.  I will try to post some new pics.  I won't post again until next week because I will be out of town, but I promise I will.  I am sticking a post-it on my computer after I finish to keep me accountable.  I still try to read all of my favorite blogs.  I love keeping updated on everyone.  I am also sorry to see some of my favorites gone.

    God Bless,

    Sarah

Just wanted to share some photos.  Here is a family picture from our vacation.  While we were in Reno, we decided to take a day trip to San Francisco and see Alcatraz.  What an amazing place.

  • Daily Routines and Schedules

I have been doing a series of Bible studies online and thought I would share some of the inspiration and knowledge I have gained.  Lately I have struggled with my role as a SAHM.  After having to be independent and work for so long, it has been difficult for me to accept the role God has called me to do.  I have been home for a little over three years now, so you think I would be at peace with it, but sadly I must confess I haven't been.  I am still struggling with that role and am determined to fall in love with it sooner, rather than later.  I have to decided to give myself completely with this role and learn and implement all of the things I have learned and am learning through Bible study and through the many amazing blogs I read of women who are doing this with joy.  I pray the Lord will bring peace and contentment in my heart as I make this journey.  I only wish I would have done this sooner.

Now to what I have learned.....

Living by a routine and schedule will bring confidence and peace, it will give your loved ones a sense of satisfaction and security.  ( I have not fully implemented this since our move a little over a year ago, and am reaping the repercussions.)

Make time for God as the most important thing.  ( I sadly have not done this in a LONG time and realize when I do, my days go alot smoother.)

Make time to love yourself and your immediate family as second most important.

    1. Make time for yourself--spend time reading the Bible and praying, attend church and church activities, personal grooming, eat properly and get regular exercise, rest and refresh yourself by enjoying nature

    2.  Make time for immediate family--HUSBANDS FIRST!!!!!!!!!!--Submission, meals, regularly clean house, clean laundry and ironed clothes, companionship, intimacy, encouragement, care for his children.  CHILDREN SECOND!!!!!!!!!!--train them in God's way, care for their physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs, prepare them to be productive adults, teach them to obey authority and ALL rules, teach them to love God and others, to finish everything they start, to enjoy natural things and love real life, protect from evil, teach God's Word and truth, comfort them when they are hurting.

    3.  Make time for church and church family--make meals for sick, send letters to troubled, help with nursery, hospitality, etc., pray for paster and members, be a good wife, mother and homemaker.

    4.  Make time to help the needy.

Things to include in a daily and weekly routine:

Personal grooming, bed making, tidy house, breakfast, exercise, read Bible and pray, take care of others, laundry, meals, personal hobby, soul winning, sleep.

Love and help husband, raise and train children, social activities with friends and family, homemaking arts.

My goal in the coming week is to establish a workable and flexible daily and weekly routine.  Once I have completed that task, I will share with everyone.
